Devil's Throat cave, Yagodinska cave and Eagle's Eye

Devil’s Throat and Yagodinska caves. The Devil’s Throat Cave is located in the western part of the Rhodope Mountains. Near the border with Greece and is a very popular tourist attraction. As a matter of fact the Devil’s throat cave is connected to lots of mystical powers, it beholds the largest waterfall inside a cave on the Balkan Peninsula. According to the one of the legend, the legendary thracian singer Orpheus attempted to retrieve his beloved Euridice from Hades in the Underworld. Yagodinska Cave is 10,500 m long and has three levels, only one of them about 1,100m. long in the lowest level was electrified in 1971–1982 and opened for tourists. The entrance and the exit for that level are artificial tunnels with a length of 150 and 80 m respectively. The altitude of the entrance and the exit is 930 m and 937 m respectively. The temperature in the cave is constant all year round at 6ºС; the humidity is 85%–91%.

Rila monastery and National history museum

Representing the history of the present Bulgarian lands, from the period 8,000 years ago to the present day. The first exhibition was in 1984 in honor of the 1300th anniversary of Bulgaria as a state. Since 2000 year, the museum has been located in the former building No 1 of the government residence in the Boyana residential section, Sofia.
