RUBIN MUSEUM

The Rubin Museum is an artist’s house-museum in the historic heart of Tel Aviv. It used to be the residence of painter Reuven Rubin; he lived there with his family and worked in his third-floor studio from 1946 until his passing away in 1974. Built in 1930, this house at No. 14 Bialik Street became open for visitors since 1983. You can see selected works from its permanent exhibition – collections of Reuven Rubin’s painting that change every now and then due to temporary expositions focused mainly on Israel Art. This four-storeyed edifice has several interesting places inside - ground floor hosts not only the central gallery but also entrance lobby along with souvenir shops within the premises. Another smaller one lies upstairs (on the first floor), while you may discover both Library & Reading Room situated right next door. Children Workshop resides downstairs under the same roof leading directly towards back yard area. On top storey i.e., fourth floor remains intact just like during artists own time period showcasing original Studio space alongside fascinating photo biography about Mr.Reuben narrating entire story behind creation process accompanied by reflections over regional arts culture scenario prevailing those days.
