Fjords of Norway

Visit the Norwegian Fjords This is the perfect tour for those who love magnificent views and want to be guided over the mountains from Abisko, Sweden and further down to the fjords in Norway and the North Atlantic. The spectacular scenery that meets us as we head into Norway makes this tour something very special. The Norwegian mountains rise majestically around fjords and lakes and the sea never completely freezes even in winter. For those who like photography, this is a trip you don’t want to miss. During the tour, we make a number of stops at especially interesting geological and historical places which provide several opportunities for nature and landscape photography. Along the road there are also remains and monuments from the border guard and the battle of Narvik from the Second World War. The stretch itself is also a historic stretch as the road runs parallel to the Rallarleden, which has remained since the railway was built to be able to transport ore from the mine in Kiruna to the port in Narvik. Now in modern times, Rallarleden is a popular trail for hiking and mountain biking. During the tour, a slightly longer stop is also made for a packed lunch at a suitable place for the day. The tour departs by minibus from Abisko and continues west along Torneträsk. We then continue across the Skanderna and cross the Swedish-Norwegian border at Riksgränsen and Björnfjäll before we continue down towards the fjords around Narvik and the Norwegian mountain massifs. Trollsjön, Rissajaure

Hiking tour to Trollsjön, Abisko Trollsjön, Rissajaure (near Abisko), is one of the most stunning destinations in Swedish Lapland! The hike up to the lake is surrounded by large rocks and boulders combined with lush vegetation on the mountain meadows. The nature in these mountains is forever changing throughout the seasons of the year, and the colors shift almost from day to day depending on the current weather and how high the sun is in the sky. Trollsjön in Abisko is Sweden's cleanest freshwater lake, located 815 m above sea level at the end of the Kärkevagge valley at the foot of Gearggecorru and Vassejietnja. It is a sterile mountain lake with meltwater from nearby glaciers. The visibility depth is 37 meters, all the way to the bottom of the deepest part of the lake. The depth of sight would most likely be longer if the lake were deeper; it is estimated to be about 70 meters. On the way to Trollsjön, it is possible to see some animals such as reindeer, lemmings, buzzards, grouse, hares, mountain pipits, and sometimes even sea eagles. In Kärkevagge, there are also several typical mountain plants such as marsh cinquefoil, columbine, glacier crowfoot, rose root, arctic woolly, arctic willow, and dwarf birch, so a good tip is to bring binoculars and a mountain flora guide on the hike. Among the boulders in Kärkevagge are many caves and holes, estimated at around 3,000 in various sizes.
