Stop 1: Nom Banh Chuk comprises either freshly prepared slightly fermented rice noodles that continue to be handmade every single day throughout all parts of Cambodia; it makes an excellent snack or light meal option.
Stop 2: This dish features Khmer style spicy red chicken curry also referred to as 'Somlor kari saek mouan', created using aromatic spices mixed together with creamy coconut milk then cooked up with tender chunks of poultry meat accompanied by aubergine slices, slender French bean pods, potato wedges and even some tasty purple yam pieces - topped off with mouthwatering kroeung (Khmer herb) paste!
Stop 3: At one of Phnom Penh's best loved market stalls we find ourselves faced with arguably the city's favourite fast food offering – fried eggplants alongside locally sourced pungent pickled fish fillets over steamed jasmine rice... simply irresistible when eaten straight out of the pan!
Stop 4: We now tuck into crispy thin pancakes filled generously with succulent cubes of seasoned ground porc, plump prawns plus crunchy sprouts before finishing off with a dollop of nutty tasting homemade satay dip followed by garnishes including fragrant Thai basil leaves & crisp shredded lettuce strips.
Stop 5: Our final savoury stop sees us sampling another much beloved regional dessert treat amongst Cambodians themselves.
